The goal is to make it more down-to-earth. "There was lots of fan service in the Citadel and lots of in-jokes and it was just so celebratory, and that's what made it really special. The Citadel DLC famously gives the Normandy crew a bit of shore leave, and they have something of a rager in Captain Anderson's apartment. You got to have Wrex and Grunt in the same room, and oh Zaeed is here as well, and you get to see the conversation between them." That gave you the opportunity to see characters, NPCs, interact that never interacted before. "I really have to give credit to Cathleen Rootsaert, one of the writers at BioWare she was one of the ones who championed 'we gotta have the big party on the Citadel, we gotta get all these folks back together. Mind over generally there when you get there. Is there any work around? The only thing I can think of is somehow changing the game state by visiting the available loadout screen in the apartment, but as I of course do not know what it is about the loading of the next map that crashes the game, I don't have any hints as to what to try or whether it's even possible to recover this way.
Unfortunately, I all 3 of my saves are inside the apartment (quicksave, autosave, restart mission) so going back to a recoverable state doesn't seem to be an option.
The loading screen comes up, and (seemingly on completion of loading) it stutters and exits to the launcher. In mass effect legendary edition, in mass effect 3, during the "shore leave" mission on the citadel, shepard enters anderson's apartment, gets a message from joker, then is supposed to leave the apartment via the one exit.
